TALSINKI Metropolitan Incubation facilitates the growth and co-operation between knowledge intensive companies in the Tallinn-Helsinki area through an integrated incubation program that is personalized to meet company’s specific needs. The co-operation addresses four business verticals: ICT, healthtech, cleantech and creative industries.
Science Park Tehnopol
Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol is the largest science park and start-up incubator in the Baltics. There are over 200 tech companies, R&D centres and laboratories, as well as Tallinn University of Technology and the IT College, forming the biggest tech hub in Tallinn. Tehnopol supports the development of tech start-ups and growing tech companies by offering: the first prototyping fund in Europe, Prototron, where good ideas get great execution; a Startup Incubator where start-ups are backed with 10,000 euros’ worth of expertise every year; business development services to boost businesses to a new level and help them to go global. Tallinn Business Incubators (TBI)
The mission of TBI is to provide a supportive environment while also improving the business competence of starting enterprises.
TBI operates two business incubators with a total area of ca 2200 m2: Tallinn Creative Incubator and Kopli Business Incubator. Tallinn Creative Incubator is the biggest Creative hub in Estonia with hundreds of creative companies.
Our incubation program helps to achieve business goals through individual development programs, where the product/service, business model and the team are prepared for fast growth. The program complements the team with consultants, experts and mentors, as well as facilitates developing necessary contacts, thereby decreasing time needed for growth. In addition, the program helps to reduce risks.

TBI also operates the Creative Industries Development Centre that opened in 2012 in the Creative Incubator. Its aim is to facilitate the development of products and services and launching them through networking and cooperation.

South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – Xamk – started on 1 January 2017 when Kymenlaakso and Mikkeli Universities of Applied Sciences merged. At Xamk, learning is unlimited. Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Laurea)/Spinno Enterprise Center (Spinno)
Laurea University of Applied Sciences is a research and development oriented University focused on service innovations and entrepreneurship. Laurea is the third largest UAS in Finland with more than 8000 students and 500 employees. Laurea was nominated as a centre of excellence in regional development in 2003-2004, 2006-2007, 2010-2012, and as a centre of excellence in education in 2005-2006. A key choice in the Laurea strategy is to produce service innovations as well as promote student and growth entrepreneurship. In the promotion of enterprise, Laurea is profiled particularly as a university of applied sciences for knowledge-based entrepreneurship. Laurea promotes and coordinates entrepreneurship through its Entrepreneurship and Innovation Services. These services are offered to the Laurea students as well as participants from outside the university especially through partnerships.
Spinno Enterprise Center is part of Laurea’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Services. Spinno delivers world class, award winning pre-incubation and incubation programmes for technology and knowledge-based startups aiming at rapid growth and international success. The comprehensive advisory services/coaching, hands-on trainings and networking events support the generation of a significant share of the new growth startups in the Helsinki Region. Spinno, established originally in 1991, has over 25 years of experience in supporting new start-up firms and has been part of Laurea since 2010. Spinno serves clients across verticals including ICT, Clean Tech, and Health Tech supporting clients in adopting lean startup principles. Special focus is given on helping clients to raise pre-seed and seed funding.

Estonian Business Angels Network (EstBAN)
Estonian Business Angels Network, established in late 2012, is an umbrella organization for business angels and business angel groups seeking investment opportunities in Estonia and its neighbouring regions with an aim to grow the quantity and quality of local seed stage investments. We partner with local and international business angel organizations, venture capitalists and advisory services providers. Currently EstBAN has 100 angel investor members.
EstBAN is a full member of the European Trade Association for Business Angels, Seed Funds, and other Early Stage Market Players (EBAN) and Estonian Venture Capital Association (EstVCA). EstBAN has close cooperation with Finnish Business Angels Network (FiBAN), Latvian Business Angels Network (LatBAN) St-Petersburg Business Angels Network (SOBA) and newly formed Nordic Business Angels Network (NordicBAN).
